IMPORTANT (Please read before continuing):

If the sound or encounter is happening through your device's or another device's speakers and mic into the surrounding environment (for example, you are on call with a patient on your phone and have it on speaker for Autochart.ai to listen), do not use the Telehealth feature. Instead continuing using the In-person feature. This feature is only applicable for interactions that involves headphones, earphones, or other devices where sound is not going openly in the surrounding environment.

Autochart.ai lets you record telehealth consultations seamlessly through supported video platforms.

If you're recording a virtual visit, follow these steps to activate our Telehealth mode and capture high-quality audio directly from your system.

🟢 To begin recording:

  1. On your dashboard, click Start Recording to open the Recording Window (also called the Recording Modal).

  2. At the top of the modal, you’ll see two recording mode options: In-Person and Telehealth.

    • By default, the system assumes In-Person mode.

    • If you're conducting a virtual consult, click Telehealth before starting the session.

❗ Telehealth mode is currently not supported on mobile.
If you're using a phone, switch to speaker mode to allow your device microphone to pick up audio from the call and use "In-person" instead of "Telehealth".

🖥️ When you select Telehealth:

A browser pop-up will appear, prompting you to choose which screen or tab you’d like to share audio from. Choose the screen, window, or tab that your consult is going on. For example if you are having a Zoom call, choose the Zoom call tab/window. If you are having a Doxy.me call, choose that one.

  • Windows Users:
    1. Select either the specific browser tab, window or choose Entire Screen to capture audio.

    2. Make sure that your platform for Telehealth is selected if choosing browser tab or window (i.e. Zoom, Doxy.me, etc.).
    3. Make sure to check Also share system audio or Share tab audio before clicking Share.

  • MacOS Users:
    1. Only tab sharing is supported due to browser limitations.

2.Therefore select your Telehealth platform (i.e. Zoom, Doxy.me, etc.).

    3. Ensure the Share tab audio checkbox is enabled.

Once screen-sharing begins, Autochart.ai will begin capturing system audio from your video call, just like a microphone would in In-person mode.

    🔒 Data Privacy & Security

At Autochart.ai, your data privacy is our top priority.

    • 🔇 No video or screen content is retained—ever.

    • ✅ Audio is captured only for the purpose of transcription, and is deleted immediately after processing.

    • 🧠 The screen-sharing permission is purely to enable system audio recording, not video capture or screen monitoring.

📝 Final Tips for Telehealth Recording

    • Speak clearly and ensure participants are audible.

    • Use a reliable internet connection to avoid recording dropouts.

    • Ensure system permissions (microphone, screen sharing) are enabled in your browser settings.

Once your session is complete, click Generate Note to create your consult summary—just as you would in an in-person session.
