The right side of the encounter screen lets you give the AI extra information that is not said out loud, and ask it questions or request edits while you work. This is useful when important details were not spoken during the visit, or when you want to refine the note without re-recording.
Adding context before or during recording
Context is extra text you send to the AI alongside the transcript. It is not spoken aloud — it is typed in.
- Under Context, type your instructions or information.
- Click Send (or press Enter).
Examples of useful context:
- Pasting lab results or a referral letter
- "The patient has a history of Type 2 diabetes and is on metformin."
- "Include a plan for follow-up in 2 weeks."
- "This is a post-operative visit for a knee replacement."
You can also click the paperclip icon to attach a file instead of typing.
AI Chat after the note is generated
Switch to the Chat tab on the right pane to ask the AI questions or request edits to the generated note.
Examples of what you can ask:
- "Rewrite the Assessment section to be more concise."
- "Add a follow-up plan for blood pressure monitoring."
- "What medications were mentioned in the transcript?"
- "Translate the plan section into French."
The suggestion buttons below the chat input give you quick-access ideas for common requests.
Tip: Chat edits are additive — they do not regenerate the whole note. If you want to start fresh with different settings, use Regenerate from the three-dot menu instead.
Quick Insights
The Quick Insights panel appears at the top right of the encounter screen and surfaces key information from the note — such as medications, diagnoses, and follow-up items — without you having to search through the note.
A lock icon on the panel means Quick Insights is not included in your current plan.
Plan availability: Quick Insights is included on the Intensive plan and is an add-on on Starter and Daily plans. See pricing and plans.
