Specialties give the AI context about your work. Each specialty has its own visit types, such as Follow up or Chronic Disease Management.
How to access: Settings -> AI Settings -> Specialities tab.
Add a specialty
- Click the Select... dropdown at the top.
- Choose a specialty. It is added to your list automatically.
Set a default specialty: Click the star next to it. The default is used for new encounters.
Work with visit types
- Click the arrow next to a specialty to expand it.
- Click New Visit Type to add one. Enter a Visit Type Name and Content, and mark it as Default if you like. Click Save.
- Click the three dots next to a visit type to edit it. Click the star next to a visit type to make it the default.
- Restore App Defaults brings back the original visit types. Delete All removes all visit types for that specialty.
Archive a specialty: Click the three dots on the specialty and choose Archive. Turn on Show Archived to see archived items.
What to write in a visit type
Describe the clinical situation, the type of patient and what to focus on. For example: "Post-operative follow-up for orthopedic surgery patients. Focus on wound healing, pain management and mobility progress."
Do not put formatting instructions here, such as "use bullet points" or "keep it brief." Those belong in Note Types.
Troubleshooting
- A specialty is missing from the encounter dropdown: Make sure you added it, and that it is not archived.
- Visit types look different from before: Click Restore App Defaults to bring back the originals.
- Notes ignore my instructions: Move formatting instructions out of the visit type and into a note type.
