Provider Communications

Overview

Autochart.ai has introduced Provider Communication, a feature that replaces the previous Referral tab in the Documents view. This enhancement allows healthcare providers to send referrals, consult summaries, and clinical correspondence directly from the platform.

What's Changed

Encounters View Updates

  • The Communication tab has been renamed to Patient Communication (functionality unchanged)
  • The Referral tab has been replaced by the new Provider Communication tab

Introducing the Provider Communication Tab

The new tab maintains a similar appearance to the old Referral view but with a significant upgrade: "You can now choose from a variety of communication types—not just referrals."

How to Use It

  1. Open the Provider Communication tab in the Documents view
  2. Select a Communication Type from the dropdown (referral, consult note, follow-up)
  3. Enter the Recipient's Role and Name
  4. Click Generate Provider Communication

Creating Custom Provider Communication Types

Users can customize communication types through AI Settings:

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner
  2. Select Settings to open the dashboard
  3. Navigate to Provider Communications on the left

Available Options

  • Set a default provider communication type
  • Clone existing types or create new ones from scratch
  • Use "Learn My Style" to generate communication types based on past examples

Automating Provider Communications

After completing a recorded encounter:

  1. Open Advanced Options in the recording modal
  2. Find the "Create Provider Communication?" dropdown
  3. Select a Provider Communication type to automate creation

Once the encounter note is generated, the corresponding communication is created automatically.
