App Settings control how Autochart.ai behaves and how your finished notes look. They apply to your account on every device.
How to access: Left sidebar -> Settings -> App Settings. It has two tabs: Display and Clipboard.
| Tab | What it controls | | --- | --- | | Display | Which pane opens first, automatic recording, timezone, details added to notes and the disclaimer. | | Clipboard | How Copy Simple Text formats your note when you paste it into an EMR. |
Click Save at the bottom of the Display tab after you make changes. On the Clipboard tab, use Reset to Default to go back to the original layout.
Default Document View
This sets which tool opens on the right side when you open a completed encounter.
- Go to Settings -> App Settings -> Display.
- Under Default Document View, open the Select Default Right Pane in Document View dropdown.
- Choose a tool, such as Provider Communication.
- Click Save.
The options match the right-hand tools on a note: Transcript, Patient Communication, Provider Communication, Chat, Resources, Pathways and Patient.
Auto-Start Recording
Auto-Start begins recording the moment you open a new encounter, so you never miss the start of a visit.
- Go to Settings -> App Settings -> Display.
- Under Recording Preferences, switch Auto-Start Recording Session on or off.
- Click Save.
Tip: If you turn it on, make sure your browser always allows microphone access for Autochart.ai. If it asks every time, recording will not begin until you click Allow.
Timezone and encounter details on notes
You can have Autochart.ai add the visit date and time to the top of every note.
- Go to Settings -> App Settings -> Display.
- Under Notes Output, check that your Timezone is correct. Change it if not.
- Under Encounter date and time on notes, tick what you want included: Encounter date, Start time, End time and Duration.
- Click Save.
Troubleshooting: If note times look wrong by a few hours, check the Timezone setting. If the details do not appear, make sure at least one box is ticked, save and generate a new note. Existing notes are not changed.
Disclaimer on notes
The disclaimer is a short statement added to the end of each note. It says the note was created with AI assistance and that the provider is responsible for reviewing it.
- Go to Settings -> App Settings -> Display.
- Under Notes Output, switch Display disclaimer text on notes on or off.
- To change the wording, edit the Custom Disclaimer Text box.
- Click Reset to Default to bring back the original text.
- Click Save.
Check your clinic or college requirements before removing or changing the disclaimer.
Copy Simple Text (Clipboard Settings)
Copy Simple Text pastes a clean plain-text note, which works well in EMRs such as Accuro and Oscar. These settings let you adjust the layout.
How to access: Settings -> App Settings -> Clipboard tab.
| Setting | What it does | | --- | --- | | Include Note Subject in Clipboard | Yes adds the chart subject at the top of the pasted text. | | Capitalize Headings | Yes writes section headings in capital letters. | | Number of Indentation Spaces | How far bullets are indented. The default is 3. | | Bullet Marker | The character used for bullets. The default is +. |
A Preview below the settings shows a sample SOAP note with your choices. It is a sample only and does not change your note type.
Troubleshooting:
- Pasted text looks wrong in my EMR: Click Reset to Default and try again.
- Bullets show as strange symbols: Change the Bullet Marker to a simple character such as - or +.
- I want formatted text: Use Copy Rich Text instead. Clipboard settings only affect Copy Simple Text.
