Booking an encounter from the Patients page creates a scheduled visit and links it to that patient's record. When you start the visit later, Autochart.ai already knows who the patient is.
How to access: Left sidebar -> Patients.
Plan availability: Scheduling requires Patient Management, included on the Intensive plan or higher, or available as an add-on. See pricing and plans.
Steps
- Go to Patients in the left sidebar.
- Find the patient you want to schedule.
- Click Book Encounter on their row.
- The visit appears under Encounters -> Scheduled, linked to that patient.
When it is time for the visit, open it from Scheduled and start recording. The note will automatically reference the patient's details.
Troubleshooting
- Book Encounter button is missing: Patient Management may not be enabled. Go to Settings -> Patient Management and turn it on.
- Visit not appearing in Scheduled: Refresh the page or check that you are looking at the Scheduled tab, not Completed or Saved.
