What are Note Types:

Autochart.ai's Note Types feature allows customization of AI-generated clinical documentation appearance. The platform offers default options like SOAP, Narrative Note, and Progress Note, plus the ability to create personalized templates with custom headings, bullet points, numbering, and text styling.

How to Use Note Types:

Before the Consultation: Setup customized Note Types using the steps below so they appear in the recording window each time. Select a default Note Type for automatic population.

During the Consultation: Use dropdown menus in the recording window to select the appropriate Note Type for the encounter. Switch options if the default doesn't fit.

How to Set Default Note Types:

1. Set a Default Note Type

  • Navigate to Settings > AI Settings > Note Types
  • Browse pre-made Note Types in Autochart.ai
  • Click the star icon next to your preferred Note Type to set as default

Your default Note Type automatically loads when opening the Recording Window, saving time and ensuring consistency.

Customizing a Default Note Type:

To create a custom Note Type based on existing ones:

  • Click the clone button next to your desired starting template
  • Edit and update the duplicate, then save under a new name

This approach preserves original Note Types. Compare outputs from original and updated versions, fine-tuning until achieving desired results.

Start From Scratch using New Note Type:

  1. Click the New Note Type button
  2. Fill in the relevant fields

Use Learn My Style:

The "Learn My Style" feature lets users upload, paste, or type note examples. The AI learns preferences and generates notes in your preferred format.

  • Click the green "Learn My Style" button beside "New Note Type"
  • Submit with a custom name to save to your note types

What are the three different Note Types:

Your own note types: Custom note types you create and modify, visible only to you.

System note types: Pre-built templates provided by Autochart.ai, available to all users.

Public note types from other users: Coming soon—note types shared by other users for browsing, using, or adapting.

The Note Types feature provides flexibility and efficiency in clinical documentation by enabling customization and fine-tuning of templates to match individual workflows and preferences.
